Scope:![]() | The Address geocode cluster defines the data elements used to collect the geocode components of an address, which is defined as a collection of information used for describing the location of an entity, and/or details describing how the entity can be contacted. Address geocoding identifies the precise geographical location of an address using a global positioning system (GPS), which is a system of satellites, computers, and receivers that is able to determine the latitude and longitude of a receiver on the earth. Address geocoding can be used to derive aggregated address data such as that needed to define providers within a specific Medicare Local, or indicate whether an individual is in a defined remote area. The latitude and longitude are the minimum required elements if geocode is being collected. |
