Guide for use: | A day is measured from midnight to 2359 hours. All patient days for unqualified newborns are included. Patient days for hospital boarders and posthumous organ procurement are excluded. The following basic rules are used to calculate the number of patient days for overnight-stay patients:

Comments: | SAB surveillance coverage is the number of patient days (including unqualified newborns) under SAB surveillance presented as a percentage of the number of patient days (including unqualified newborns). SAB patient episodes may be associated with both admitted patient care and non-admitted patient care. The count of patient days reflects the amount of admitted patient activity, but does not necessarily reflect the amount of non-admitted patient activity. |
