DSS type: | Data Element Cluster |
Scope: | The Client alias cluster is used to determine whether a current child protection and support services client has ever been recorded as a client of the service under an alias or assigned a different client identifier, prior to this instance of being a client. Information regarding all previous names and/or client identifiers is captured here and can be used to assist with data integration across years and jurisdictions. |
Collection and usage attributes | |
Guide for use: | The Person—person identifier, child protection NX[X(13)] is collected at least twice in the Client alias cluster. The first occurrence of this data element must match the identifier in the Child protection and support services (CPSS) client DSS exactly. The second and subsequent occurrences are identifiers which may have been allocated upon prior instances of the child becoming a client of child protection services. The Person—letters of given name, text XX and Person—letters of family name, text XXX may also be collected multiple times, to reflect any name changes that the client may undergo. The above data elements are used for data integration purposes. |
---|---|
Collection methods: | All identifiers that have been used to identify the child should be included in this file. |
Comments: | The 2010 unit record collection is a pilot test, therefore the implementation of the unit record data collection across all jurisdictions has not been finalised. The pilot test is a non-mandatory data set specification, rather than a national minimum data set specification, and is subject to change. A final unit record child protection NMDS will be developed when the results from the pilot/dress rehearsal testing are obtained and evaluated.
