Collection methods:![]() | Record alphabetic characters, punctuation (for example, ‘-’) and spaces only. Hyphenated family names are not a part of a name prefix and should be recorded using Person—family name, text X[X(39)]. A name prefix precedes a family name in a display of the full name. Names which include punctuation, such as O’Brien, should not have the ‘O’ separated out as a prefix, but should be treated as a single family name. |
