Reporting requirements: | (b.1) and (b.2) SDAC for all data except Indigenous; NATSISS for Indigenous data. |
Organisation responsible for providing data: | Australian Bureau of Statistics with input from AIHW on social and community activities in scope. |
Further data development / collection required: | Frequency of data source is listed on the NDIMG workplan for discussion/consideration. |
Other issues caveats: | Available disaggregation depends on sampling errors and other caveats. Reporting issues are the same as listed in performance indicator a. SDAC data are collected every six years. 2003 SDAC does not provide Indigenous status data, therefore Indigenous data needs to be taken from a different source (e.g. NATSISS). The NATSISS uses the an abbreviated form of the Disability Module, which is less detailed than the SDAC. The ABS has some concerns about the identification of Indigenous people with disability, using this module. Data will only be used if it is deemed fit for purpose when results for the survey are released at the end of October 2009. Social and community activities as defined in the NATSISS are more culturally appropriate for Indigenous Australians than those in the SDAC. |
